General Policies

Dogs must be at least 2 months old and have received the appropriate vaccinations, including DHLPP, Bordatella and Rabies.  Please understand that if your dog is not current on vaccinations, he or she is the one susceptible to disease. 

Dogs must have a negative fecal exam within the last 3 years. 

All dogs must be healthy and with no communicable diseases.

Dogs must not show ANY aggression to humans or other dogs.

It is recommended that all new dogs or dogs that have not visited Planet Canine in the past month attend atleast 10 days of daycare before an overnight stay.  This helps familiarize your dog to our facility and makes them more comfortable for their visit. 

Owner acknowledges that their dog is in a multi-dog play environment and as such may have injuries, scratches, nicks, sore paws and strained and exercised muscles.  Owners acknowledge that they are responsible for all injuries to their own dog.

Owner acknowledges that Planet Canine may at any time temporarily remove their dog from the open play area if the dog exhibits behavior not conducive to a safe environment.  The dog will be safely contained in an appropriate and safe manner until it is deemed safe to return it to the open play area.

Owner acknowledges that because there are over 250 strains of canine cough, and that the vaccinations cover only a few of those strains, their dog may contract canine cough while at the facility.  This is similar to a child contracting a cold while at daycare.  Owner acknowledges that they are responsible for all medical conditions of their dog.

Payment is due when services are rendered.  Planet Canine accepts personal checks, credit cards, and cash.  Owner acknowledges that in the event that payment is not received, Planet Canine will pursue collection proceedings and owner will pay reasonable attorneys fees and cost of collection. 

Center credit (valid for 6 months) will be given for overpayments and refunds other than the non-refundable deposits for peak time-frames. 

A $30 returned check fee will apply to all checks returned regardless of reason.

If your dog exhibits signs of illness during his/her stay (coughing, sneezing, diarrhea, vomiting, fever), there are three options:

• You can pick up the dog
  

• We can keep the dog in our isolation room for an additional charge
  

• We can take your dog to a vet
  

Because the health and welfare of your dog is our primary concern, if we are unable to get in touch with you or your designee within two hours, we reserve the right to take the dog to your vet, our vet, or the emergency vet depending on the severity of the symptoms.  Owner agrees that any cost of veterinary treatment incurred will be reimbursed to Planet Canine upon presentation of the veterinary invoice.

Dogs will only be released to a person authorized in the dog's file.  If someone other than one of the authorized persons is to pick up the dog, an authorized person must inform Planet Canine in writing, and the person picking up must provide identification.  For the safety of your dog, we will refuse to release your dog to someone else without written approval from you. 

Planet Canine is open the following hours for drop-off and pick-up.

Planet Canine often uses photos taken during daycare, overnight stays, spa treatments, and training.  Owner acknowledges and authorizes Planet Canine to use photos of their dog in any legal manner without compensation.

Owner acknowledges sole responsibility for any harm, including to any other dog(s), to the employees or invitees of Planet Canine, or to the equipment, physical plant, or other property of Planet Canine, caused by their dog while their dog is attending Planet Canine.

Daycare Policies

Dogs should have eaten breakfast at LEAST 1.5 hours before arriving to daycare.  This precaution is to prevent bloat, a potentially deadly situation.  If your dog does exhibit the signs of bloat while at Planet Canine, we will transport him/her immediately to your vet, our vet, or the emergency vet.

Dogs must be spayed or neutered if 6 months of age or older to attend open play.  This is to prevent accidental mating and to reduce the chance of hormonal related behavioral issues that can cause fighting.

Advance reservations for daycare are requested.  These can be made in person or by phone.  Walk-ins will be accommodated on a space-available basis.

Planet Canine requires an evaluation of all dogs prior to attending daycare.

Dogs must not exhibit ANY aggressive tendencies to attend daycare.

Your dog may be dropped of for daycare between 7:00 am and 9:30 am, they may be picked up from daycare between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

Recurring daycare appointments are recommended and multi-day discount packages are available.  We recommend that a dog attend a minimum of two days per week to achieve the maximum benefit of daycare.

Overnight Policies

Your dog may check-in or check-out during active hours of operation but will be charged for the full day regardless of check-in.  Dogs that are picked up in the pm time slot will incur a daycare charge.

Planet Canine requires owners to bring their dog's regular type of food.  This is to minimize upset stomachs.  Please be sure to bring enough food for your dog's entire stay.

All dogs must pass a temperament test to ensure that they are both dog and people friendly.  It is important for the health and safety of all concerned that the dogs attending daycare or staying overnight DO NOT have aggressive tendencies, show excessive shyness, are food or toy possessive, are overly protective of territory, or are stressed easily in new situations.

Complete and return Registration Form and New Dog Profile, along with a copy of your dogs vet records and $30 nonrefundable registration fee.
